I’m Kim Schlauch, jewelry artist and owner of Blooming Light Designs. Like many of you, I love jewelry, and have been intrigued by the art of jewelry making for as long as I can remember. The thought of starting a jewelry design business had been a long-time dream of mine, and became a more serious consideration when I left the corporate world after the birth of our first child. However, within the following year and a half, we moved twice and were then blessed with the birth of our second child. Needless to say, I had neither the time nor the motivation to even think about starting a new business! Several years later, a personal loss led to a life-changing opportunity. After happily seeing my children through their toddler years, I began designing jewelry in earnest and started thinking once again about starting my own business. Shortly thereafter, my grandmother, who had been a strong supporter of my jewelry design efforts, was diagnosed with terminal cancer. After my grandmother’s passing, I decided to host a jewelry sale in her memory and donated a share of the proceeds to the hospice that cared for her and my family during my grandmother’s final days with us. After that experience, I realized that for as much as I enjoy expressing myself creatively through my jewelry designs, the greater reward is using my God-given gifts to serve others and to make a positive difference in the world. And that gave me all the motivation I needed to finally start my business! As a jewelry artist, I am a down-to-earth and reflective person who enjoys employing a variety of aesthetically pleasing color pallets and classic styling to create works that are fun, sophisticated, and inspired. I hope you enjoy viewing and wearing my creations. May the inspiration and love that went into making them inspire you, and even motivate you to discover ways to let the light that is within you bloom and grow and shine for all to see! |
